Countdown to 2012
- 11/11/2009With just 1,000 days to go before the London Olympics Patel Taylor are building two plots for the Athletes Village (numbered 7 on the photo). Comprising some six hundred units of mixed tenure they form part of a wider masterplan with a real ambition to create a piece of city. The buildings contain a central semi-private courtyard above car parking. Commercial use and houses animate the edges. The layout is given greater complexity by the need to have an Olympic overlay of accommodation for athletes. Work has started on all 11 residential plots and Patel Taylor’s plots are approaching their full height.
