"Streets, courts, enclosure and place"
The 11.5ha site is edged by river, sea and a 16th Century fort. Our international competition winning strategy is very simple, with perimeter access establishing a traditional hierarchy of public and private spaces, streets and courts. The building form reinforces this grain and creates shelter and enclosure for a variety of uses. The massing is carefully modelled in a scale sympathetic to the fort.
