Patel Taylor’s work in the education and cultural sectors is wide ranging from masterplans to specialised buildings. This breadth of work brings a way of thinking which helps us to understand complex organisations, and through rigorous analysis lead to individual solutions.

We have completed a masterplan for St Paul’s School setting out a vision for the next 25 years. Our work for universities includes departmental buildings and auditoria. Other specialist buildings include a 3D visualisation department and a music school.

Many of the projects require benchmarking analysis for cost, space and efficiency standards. Access for all is key and we have recently completed a specialist IT facility for people with disabilities.

Our work in the cultural sector often involves the re-use of existing buildings. Recently we have completed the first of two spaces for Orleans House Gallery with two successful Heritage Lottery grants; this project and other visitor centres form important buildings for the wider community.

Most of these projects have been won through competitions and have been widely published. Our teaching and CABE Arts Enabling work bring an understanding of, and participation in, the national debate.
