"Two pieces, two functions, one building"
The visitor centre sits at the entrance to the park, creating a threshold between urban parking and green parkland. The entrance leads to a small exhibition space and café with an unfolding vista of views through mown meadows to the Thames Barrier.
The building is composed of two parts - a concrete ‘table’ encloses the toilets and services, and a green oak canopy houses the café.
