"Settings for living"
This apartment and penthouse offered the opportunity to explore the domestic setting. Warehouse adaptions often fail because they are compartmentalised into rooms; our strategy for the apartment places ‘pieces of furniture’ to define different living spaces within the overall volume. A single glass wall is set back from the façade creating a Venetian loggia and a memorable relationship with Albert Dock. The penthouse in contrast is made from steel and glass; sliding screens link rooms and terraces, orientated to capture the daily movement of the sun. To complete these commission we designed some furniture, fittings and door handles.
