"Reconciling contrasting urban grains"
This development involves the design of a luxury residential scheme bordering 1960s mass housing and 19th century residential grain on the edge of Battersea Park. The design seeks to meet the twin challenges of intensifying the site and reconciling its volume with context. A plinth of modulated bays and balconies encloses the site, redefines the street network and creates a private court. This is topped by a rectilinear ‘piece’ containing further accommodation overlooking the park.
