Patel Taylor are internationally recognised for their landscape, public realm and infrastructure work. Public realm is the ingredient that binds cities together. Each of our solutions is unique, guided by the particularity of place and a passion to make the urban fabric more humane.

Our work is varied; Thames Barrier Park acts as a catalyst and creates value through the recycling of a brownfield site. At the macro scale, the layout reinforces the structure of the city, at a micro scale the ‘Green Dock’ creates an intimate sheltered refuge.

We understand the way cities and infrastructure work both practically and as the lifelines for the creation of sustainable communities. Much of our work is the redefinition of existing conditions; we bring specialist knowledge of bridges and dock edges, and an understanding of civil engineering implications where we can bring our ‘thinking’ to create substantial value.

More recently, working with a number of artists we have experimented with creative technology to engender ownership and bridge communities in their shared use of public spaces.

The broad range of our client base illustrates the value we bring to contrasting developments. Many of the projects are widely published and have won several awards. Some are national exemplars for the creation of quality public places.
