Sneinton Market Square

Nottingham City Council commissioned Patel Taylor to bring together commerce and leisure in a proposal for redeveloping Sneinton Market Square. As well as providing a market area, it has facilities for events, exhibitions and performances, interweaving business and pleasure and increasing the square’s ability to foster a sense of place. The design enhances the setting of the historic clock tower, and continues the rhythm of the market building’s gables in rows of trees, establishing a framework for infrastructure to service market stalls and events. The high standard of public realm is now flowing through the neighbourhood.
